WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR

Plan, instruct and supervise swim lessons in accordance with the American Red Cross water safety instructor guidelines as well as the HPB Natatoriums policies and procedures. Provide a safe and productive learning environment through lesson planning. Follow progressive discipline process outlined by FWCS and the Helen P. Brown Natatorium. Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies and/or hazards in and around the pool in accordance the Emergency Action Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and have strong leadership, organizational, oral and written communication skills.  Possess knowledge of the methods, terminology, principles, practices, procedures, materials and equipment used in assigned field.

LIFEGUARD

Provide lifeguard services and monitor swimming pool activities to maintain a safe, healthy and controlled environment for guests; enforce and assure guest compliance with pool rules, regulations and policies. Prepare pool for all activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
The incumbent must be 15 years old, age 16 is preferred; must be able to swim 200 yards nonstop using freestyle or breast stroke, tread water for continuously for at least 2 minutes, retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the diving well, and be able to climb out of the pool without the use of the stairs or ladders. Incumbent must be knowledgeable in rescue skills, CPR, First Aid and AED. The employee must have strong oral and written communication skills. Incumbents must possess knowledge of the aspects, methods, practices, procedures, equipment and terminology used in assigned field. Incumbents must possess an International Lifeguard Training Program license.

FRONT DESK ATTENDANT

The Helen P. Brown Natatorium is seeking an individual to work part time at the front desk. This job includes greeting customers, providing great customer service, answering phones, checking people into the facility, registrations and reporting any security issues to the HPB staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School diploma or GED. Must follow, enforce all rules and guidelines of the Helen P Brown Natatorium. Must have experience with typing, computers, and answering phones. Experience with cash registers/POS systems is preferred. Candidate must: utilize professional phone etiquette & oral communication skills at all times. Must be willing to work evenings 2 nights per week and one shift each weekend. This is normally a total of 6 to 10 hours a week.
